August’s Free Game Lineup for PS PLUS members

This month PlayStation Plus members will receive two games free the day they release on PlayStation Store they will be Road Not Taken for the PS4 and Metrico on PS Vita.

The PlayStation blog says that PS4 owners can enjoy two puzzle games with very different mechanics.  Which translates into here these should hopefully hold you over till the the next triple A games comes out in September.  The first up is, Road Not Taken,  which is a roguelike puzzle game.  More on what a rouglike game is in a latter post.  Then you can don a fancy hat in Fez, as you jump around pixelated 2D levels housed in a 3D world.

On PlayStation 3, Crysis 3 offers the sandbox first-person shooter world that made the franchise famous and there’s a new toy to play with the Predator Bow because archery is all the rage now. , Then there’s Proteus which is a game about exploration and immersion in a dream-like island world where the soundtrack to your play is created by your surroundings.

Finally, on the PlayStation Vita owners will get their hands on Metrico shich looks like an intresting puzzle/platformer and then there is the action RPG Dragon’s Crown.  which looks like it is a multiplayer hack-and-slash beat’em up game and thanks to Cross-Play you can even go adventuring with your buddies who have PS3s.

All of these games will be free for PS Plus members starting August 5th.
